Dr. Huber comes to Boston

Hi All!

Hope you're all well. I will be posting at some point Sunday or Monday with the next addition to my dermastamp series. I've seen some decent progress in the flattening of the scars since the first treatment and I'm excited to continue and see how much farther we can take it. I took a picture at the 4 week mark, and will take another up close of the scars before I stamp this weekend. That way we can have something better to compare to. So stay tuned!

The Real reason I'm posting today is to let you all know that Richard Huber, the man behind 302 Skincare, is coming to Massachusetts in February to meet with me. Richard and I will be discussing treatment options, skin challenges, and of course - 302 Skincare! I am hoping to also get a good first hand update from him in regards to new and upcoming things we can expect from 302. Exciting!!

This is an amazing opportunity and I'm psyched to have him analyze my skin, my boyfriends skin, and some of my local clients skin. Here is your golden opportunity for your questions to be heard and answered!!

If you have any questions at all regarding 302 or skin concerns, please leave a comment with your question(s) and I will ask him whilst I have this one on one opportunity. I will then post a Question & Answer entry for all to enjoy!

So give me your toughest questions! Let's all take advantage of this opportunity!

Wishing you Great skin,

Organic food is better for your skin!

Hi Everyone,

This update will be short and sweet. I have a small favor to ask, and it is technically related to skin.

Organic food is better for your body. Because its better for your body, its better for your skin. Pesticides, growth hormones, chemicals, herbicides, fertilizer, and preservatives are damaging to our body and our skin. Currently, there are a lot of different threats out there in terms of our nations ability to cultivate truly pure, organic produce.

In this favor, I ask you to take 5 minutes to read this article:

http://www.aliveraw.com/Articles/Act-Now-or-Kiss-Your-Organics-Goodbye.aspx

In the few minutes it takes you to read this article, it will become obvious that we need to take a stand to protect organic produce. Do the favor for ME. Read the article, and click the links (there are 3 of them) to fill out the petitions to voice your support. Not only are you doing it for me and you, you are doing it for our future generations.

Thank you for hearing me out, and for supporting this cause.

Wishing you great skin,
Danny Vanity

302 and Galvanic Current

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to post an entry about Galvanic current and 302, inspired by Esther's comment. :)

To start, Galvanic is a machine that uses negative and positive charges to create two different effects on the face. You can use it for disincrustation or Ionophoresis.

Disincrustation uses negative current to liquify sebum in the skin and create deep pore cleansing, generally used before extractions. Most Estheticians are taught to use a mixture or water and baking soda to apply to the skin in cotton compresses that are useful in conducting the electrical current. Dermalogica is one if the few companies that makes a really effective Disincrustation solution (called Scaling Fluid) but its in their professional line so it may be hard to obtain it. The face must remain wet with solution or wet compresses to properly conduct the charge.

Edited to add: the link below is to a thread I posted on EDS with the Disencrustation recipe:

http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=29412

Ionophoresis uses the galvanic current's positive polarity to penetrate water based solutions into the skin, which penetrates your treatment into the skin. Because Galvanic only works with water Based products, you would need to use 302 Serum or 302 Plus Serum when using Galvanic & 302. 302 Drops, A-Boost and C-Boost are water free so they are not ideal. Ideally you need to keep the skin "wet" with the product you are penetrating, as to conduct the charge.

Also, I don't think this necessarily needs to be done one after the other. Not everyone necessarily needs Disencrustation (more for Oily/congested skins, or congested t-zones) but most skin types can benefit from the positive polarity (Ionophoresis). I've heard minor debates between professionals about whether or not doing both polarities one after the other was essential, so I thought I'd share.

I do think using 302 and Galvanic would be effective, for sure. It's great for hydration and plumping up the skin as well. Just be careful not to over due Galvanic. Only go over the face once. Over doing it can result in slight burns, at least when using a professional unit. The cheaper retail units don't have as much juice.

I think I may bust out my Galvanic and do a documentary of a galvanic treatment. It could be a future post. ;)

Wishing you great skin,
Danny Vanity

P.S. Today is one month since my initial stamping. New Pictures and documentation of my second stamping session are to come within the next few days! :)

Happy New Year!

Hi Everyone!

Happy New Year to you all! I hope you all had a fantastic holiday, I know I did. I got lots of goodies, of course, including Dr. Ben Johnson's book "Transform your Skin Naturally." I haven't finished reading it yet, however I can already tell you I highly recommend it to everyone with an interest in skincare and anyone who uses 302. Lots of good information. You can find it cheapest on Amazon. I will be posting more on te book when I finish reading it, highlighting the important stuff for those of you who won't go buy it. :)

The real reason I'm posting, is to talk about my Dermastamping. It's been almost a month since I used my stamp, and I can see some minor improvement on the bigger scar on my cheek. It's as if you can actually see the areas of the raised scar that got punctured the most with the stamp, as parts of it seem to have flattened. It originally was like a perfect half circle, and it's a little lumpy, which is good! It means it's working!

Generally, Collagen production takes 4-6 weeks, so results this early are rare. I will be sure to post a really good (I'll take then outside this time!) up close shot of all the scars, before and after the next Dermastamping session, that way we can all gauge the gradually scar reduction.

Wishing you great skin!

P.S. If you like what you're reading, leave me a comment. They make my day!
